A school built around the whole child
Choosing a school is an important decision for every family. At Maria Montessori School, we provide a nurturing environment in which children can learn, grow, develop confidence and become responsible members of society.
Founded on 16 November 1985 as a pre-school at Moirangkhom, the school began with the Montessori System of education. It received CBSE affiliation in 1996 and is run by the Maria Montessori School Trust, a non-profit organisation committed to education in Manipur.

03 · Learning
Academic life
The academic session runs from April to March. Students are expected to attend from the first day and maintain regular attendance. The school follows the CBSE framework, with a focus on holistic, competency-based and experiential learning.
Assessment
Classroom and activity-based assessment, periodic tests, internal assessment, term examinations, projects and practical work are used as applicable.
Secondary classes
Assessment for Classes IX–XII follows the applicable CBSE framework.
Attendance
A minimum of 75% attendance is required in accordance with school policy and CBSE regulations.
04 · Support
Learning support and enrichment
The Learning Support & Enrichment Programme (LSEP) supports students from Classes III to XII. It identifies learning gaps, strengthens foundational literacy and numeracy, reinforces conceptual understanding and provides targeted academic support. For older students, it also supports examination readiness and application-oriented learning.
05 · Care
Student wellbeing and inclusion
Student wellbeing is supported by Health and Wellness Teachers/School Counsellors. A Special Educator works with students, parents, teachers and professionals to support diverse learning needs.
Child protection, anti-bullying, grievance redressal and digital citizenship provisions are part of the student support framework.
06 · Belonging
Student life
Students participate in academic, sports, cultural and co-curricular experiences. The House System promotes teamwork, leadership, cooperation and healthy competition.
07 · Safe journeys
Health, safety and transport
Medical care
Qualified nursing personnel staff the infirmary. Parents are informed when medical attention or hospital referral is required.
Transport
School transport is subject to availability and approved routes. Routes and stops cannot be altered for individual requests.
Campus safety
Supervision, controlled entry and exit, visitor procedures and emergency preparedness support a safe campus.

Digital communication
The Maria Montessori School Imphal App is the primary and official medium for communication, academic monitoring and administrative interaction.

Parent partnership
Families are important partners in student development. Parents and guardians are expected to:

- Keep student information updated
- Monitor official school communications
- Support learning and respectful behaviour
- Attend scheduled parent meetings
- Use the appropriate school channels for concerns
10 · Shared expectations
Key rules for families
Follow school rules and treat teachers, staff and fellow students with respect.
Academic malpractice, bullying, harassment, intimidation and abusive behaviour are not acceptable.
Wear the prescribed uniform, care for school property, maintain cleanliness and use technology responsibly.
Remain for the full school day unless authorised to leave.
Students with contagious or serious illness should not attend until medically fit. A fitness certificate may be required.
11 · Administration
Fees and payments
Tuition fees are payable for the academic session from April to March according to the notified schedule. Fees and charges may be revised periodically, and parents will be informed.
- Fees and charges are generally non-refundable, subject to provisions for security deposits.
- Parents should retain all official receipts.
- Requests for a deadline extension must be submitted in writing to the Principal and are subject to the school’s discretion.
- Transport fees follow the notified policy; discontinuation requires the prescribed notice.
12 · Joining & records
Admissions and records
Admission is subject to eligibility, vacancy and fulfilment of prescribed criteria. Registration is required for consideration but does not guarantee admission.
Student name, date of birth, parent details, PEN/APAAR and previous school information must correspond with official documents.

Classes III–XII
8:00 a.m. – 2:20 p.m.Uniform
Students follow the prescribed regular, House and sports uniform according to class and season.
Visitors
Please follow designated campus procedures and arrange meetings through the appropriate school channels.
Office hours
8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on all working days.
The school also provides refectory services and school stationery facilities as notified by the school.
